Karl Lagerfeld, a well-known multi-tasker, is shifting from designer to decorator. On Dubai’s Isla Moda (…en espanol, Fashion Island?), he is set to conceive and decorate limited edition homes. The island, part of the city’s man-made archipelago "world" project, will indeed be dedicated to everything fashion. Lagerfeld will design eighty homes to be completed in 2011. Four other yet to be named iconic designers are said to be added their flair to the island as well. Many designers and brands, including Elie Saab, Versace, Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Lacroix, and Bulgari, have already begun designs for hotels and other projects in the city, a powerful newcomer to the fashion map.
Umm, yeah. We want to go!
