As we know, Rachel Bilson has a line for DKNY called Edie Rose, which will debut this fall just in time for back-to-school shopping. Like a good celebrity designer trying to promote sales and increase income during near-recession, the OC-starlet will be lending her face to the ad campaign as well as her ideas to the line’s designs.
According to Trey Laird, who conceptualized the campaign, "Donna [Karan] really wanted to push the fashion envelope with this campaign and take it to the next level." We think that will be difficult with a celebrity at center instead of a model, but we’ll see.
Shot in New York by Mikael Jansson, the snaps, according to WWD, feature "Bilson and models Fabienne Vanderhaeghen, Regina
Feoktistova and Giedre Dukaskaite. [The campaign] showcases the collection against
a New York-inspired backdrop — brick walls, steel beams and street
signs — that has become the signature for the look of DKNY Jeans."
The juniors line, which we are sure some non-juniors will be snatching, consists of about 15 pieces, including a sportswear mix of button-down tops, sweaters,
jackets, T-shirts, dresses and two jeans styles — a straight leg and a
skinny leg, both available in a dark wash, and will be available at juniors departments in Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Bon-Ton. See a sneak-peak image of the ad, and some Edie Rose looks, below:
