New York Events. Supima Fashion Show with Project Runway Links.

July 17, 2008 • Events

This past Tuesday, Supima Cotton hosted its first ever fashion show at Gotham Hall in NYC. 25 designers (including Jerry Tam – designer of Form and recent Project Runway cast-off) displayed one-of-a-kind evening looks  to a crowd of 300 fashion industry onlookers.  The 25 were chosen by a panel of judges at an open call; once they were picked, they had 4 weeks to design a look out of Supima cotton, and they ran the gamut from professional designers to art school students. One of the judges was another Project Runway alum- Kevin Christiana of last season!

Some of the prizes awarded include: Erna Leon for the Best in Class for Luxury
Denim Award, Brigitte Schwenner for Best in Class for Softness, Sergio Guardarrama for Best in Class for Execution, Jose Miguel Valdivia for
the Super Fine Shirting Award, and Form for the Best in Class for Design winner.

Check out the winning looks below:

We loved seeing established and up-and-coming designers featured at this event, along with Project Runway alums! Who knows, perhaps we’ll see some of these winners rocking wins on the show as well one day! Too bad it didn’t happen for Jerry Tam…

Just FYI, Sergio Guadarrama was actually the winner for Best in Class: Execution and Jose Miguel Valdivia was the winner for Best in Class: Super Fine Shirting.
Can you please make the change so it is listed correctly?
    THank you!
