After 16 years in the industry, Nanette Lepore launches her first ad campaign in print, online, and outdoors. Perhaps in flagging retail sales, the designer finally saw the need for a little more conventional exposure.
Poppy de Villeneuve shot and directed the ads; photos were taken inside a Victorian mansion on Long Island. The story depicts a young woman dressing for different events, showing the versatility of Lepore pieces from office to evening. That’ll be good marketing for nowadays, when women are buying luxury pieces with multiple purposes and for multiple uses.
The ads will appear in local magazines of cities that have Lepore stores- Gotham, L.A. Confidential, Las Vegas, Boston Common, Capital File, Atlanta Peach and Michigan Avenue magazines. There will be billboards in Hollywood, and online appearances at Style.com. Sounds like a sound investment to us.
Lepore said, "We are ready to pick up the challenge in this economy, and we are dying to see how [advertising] will affect selling." We say- it’s about time!
