Jimmy Choo Couture, the strictly shoe brand that operates independently of Jimmy Choo luxury goods brand, is facing changes. Choo has stated that he plans to increasingly focus on his educational projects rather than his couture footwear business, according to WWD. Choo, after all, is a professor at the London College of Fashion, where he teaches and advises on footwear and accessories. These days, teaching might actually be a more steady and lucrative employment than the retail business!

It has not been announced whether the company will eventually close or not, but founder Tamara Mellon did mention that the designer will not recruit any new clients for his couture business– he’ll just focus on existing clients. The endeavor has definitely been hit hard in the UK retail and manufacturing markets. Change is definitely in the air, as the retail world struggles.
