According to WWD, Matthew Williamson has checked out of Emilio Pucci. Like Peter Som at Bill Blass (maybe), and Marco Zanini at Halston, the business relationship between designer and brand is over after 3 years of Williamson serving as creative director. Reportedly, Pucci is searching for a replacement.
Matthew Williamson’s silver lining is that his brand’s first US flagship store opens in the meatpacking district of New York next year. Maybe he’ll have better luck as his own boss.
