Designer News. The End of Jovovich-Hawk

August 8, 2008 • Fashion

When two former models turned into designers and teamed up to create a line, most people placed them somewhere between true designers and celebrity designers. But Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk proved to have creative vision and market savvy, and we’re sad to see them go!

With initial praise that landed them in Fred Segal stores, as well as providing a platform to expand to Target, the line was definitely a success. So, the reason for the end, after a good 5 years? Well… it’s vague. Jovovich, who also is fostering an acting career and a role as mother, recently stated to Lucky Magazine, "It’s like, when one door closes…I’m in a time of rediscovery, from my career to my personal style." Yeah, like we said, vague. As for Hawk, it’s unclear whether she will stay on with the current brand, or strike out on her own. We hope at least their influence survives!
