The fashion world is abuzz with the news that Michelle Obama‘s red floral dress that she wore to her husband’s DNC address was a Thakoon creation. The potential First Lady stepped away from her go-to Chicago designer, Maria Pinto, who she’s made a stir with before, and endorsed the young NYC deisgner instead.
Here is a similar 2008 look from the Thakoon runway. The dress Obama wore was the Radzimir Kimono dress from pre-spring 2009 collection.
We’re wondering what Cindy McCain will do to top that display of political fashion. I’m guessing she’ll stick with her Chanel suits. A trim, clean and classic First Lady look. And just when we thought Michelle vs. Cindy was the big battle, McCain tosses in another lady with his choice of VP. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska will have to enter the sartorial ring against heavyweight opposition!
We’re digging the corsage, at least.
