We predicted Cindy McCain would keep it classic for her appearance at the RNC, after Michelle Obama made a stir with her Thakoon floral dress at the DNC two weeks ago. As we imagined, the potential future First Lady wore a classically cut Oscar de la Renta number but ventured forth from the usual hues (red, white, and blue) and wore mustard. Current First Lady Laura Bush also wore de la Renta, in white, as she joined McCain onstage to encourage support for the victims of Hurricane Gustav. Whether you like her husband’s politics or not, Laura Bush is an undeniably likeable woman, so maybe McCain is onto something by patterning herself after Laura… Time will tell!
What issues will VP candidate Sarah Palin confront in her speech tonight, and what will she wear? Are female politicians held to the same standards of style as First Ladies? Sarah Palin’s main forerunner is Geraldine Ferraro while McCain and Obama stand comparison to Jackie O…
It does look like "the hockey mom" shares Cindy’s penchant for sparkly pins… and you know what? We like a little flair.
