New York Fashion Week Spring ’09: BCBGMaxAzria

September 5, 2008 • New York Fashion Week Spring '09

Summary: BCBGMaxAzria stood firm in its usual niche of fluid dresses, beautiful draping, thoughtful color palettes, and uniform point-of-view. There were lots of muted tones but also gorgeous bursts of bright color like orange, bright blue, and saturated grape, dresses with intricate folds & ruffles, and a few edgier looks that picked up on the motorcycle-inspired look. Most of the evening looks at the end of the show were typical for BCBG – elegant, sophisticated and truly "pretty" – but some also took a bigger risk – like the black micro-sheen sateen skinny jumpsuit. All in all, it was a perfectly styled show with a few unexpected looks to jazz things up.

Color Palette: white, dove grey, taupe, wineberry, mauve, moss, orange, fuschia, dark teal, pearl blue, prune, dark purple, charcoal, black

Fabrics & Textures: crepe, knit, sateen, micro-sheen sateen, jersey, silk, nylon, polyurethane, georgette, voile, canvas

Key Looks: purple crepe v-neck dress, charcoal nylon motorcycle jacket with jersey pants, dove grey tiered short dress
