Summary: Look out, Michael Phelps! Sure to be the hottest thing to hit the water since the Beijing Olympics, the Rosa Cha show seemed to reinvent the wheel when it comes to sexy swimwear for Spring/Summer ’09. Despite the miserable storm that hit the island of Manhattan pre-show, New Yorkers flocked to the tent to see some big names walk the runway- Jessica Stam and Isabeli Fontana to name a few. Overall, Rosa Cha upped the sex-factor and did so tastefully, using his accessories to bring out glamour and create a decadent vibe. His use of Swarovski crystals emblazoned on a variety of different one-pieces and bikinis may not be practical for lounging by grandma’s pool in Boca, but it’s sure to hit home if you’re throwing a cocktail party at your villa in Rio. As for me- after watching Juliana Imai strut her stuff in the Green One Shoulder Structured Bikini with Embroidered Ring, I’ll be on the treadmill until Spring Break.
Color Palette: Green, Orange, White, Leaden Brown, Optical White, Off-white.
Textures & Fabrics: Kaftan, Leather, Preces Print, Stripes, Boubou, Swarovski Elements Crystal Mesh.
Key Looks: Lace Corset Striped One Piece Swimsuit, Lace V Neck Bikini with a Crystallized Swarovski Elements Crystal Mesh, Monochromatic One Piece Swimsuit with Leather Belt, One Piece Swimsuit with Gathering and Metal Rings in Prints.
