Summary: Good news for red carpet divas and ladies who lunch…Carolina Herrera proved her customers don’t give a fig about the economy. Why should they? They are immune. The show was in a word…stunning. Maybe I am getting older and showing my age, but every season I like Carolina Herrera more and more. Maybe because she gives me something to aspire to. The show was all about in your face color and ruffles galore. Normally known for her embellishments Herrera scaled back for spring, but only in that department. Herrera began the show with several persimmon looks and ended with single persimmon gown coming full circle and wrapping the show in a tidy bow (or ruffle). I particularly loved the ivory duchesse satin cropped cigarette pantsuit and really any and all of the red carpet gowns. Renee Zellweger will be elated.

Color Palette: white, ivory, cream, persimmon, hibiscus, teal, marigold, gold, silver, grey, black

Fabrics & Textures: jersey, gabardine, silk, duchesse satin, organza, chiffon, faille, tweed, ruffles, beading, photo print, lacquer, corseting

Key Looks: ivory duchesse satin cropped cigarette pantsuit with cropped jacket; marigold ruffle asymmetrical gown; grey and white floral print belted strapless gown
