Summary: Hmmm…you know when you see a girl walking down the street and you think to yourself that she is either super chic and innovative…or maybe crazy?  Well, that pretty much sums up the Doucette Duvall Spring ’09 show. Following a circular trail of green apples on the floor, I saw 14 looks. Some were really interesting and beautiful, like the fitted, backless sheath with oversized roses winding across the neck, over one shoulder and along the waist in the back. There was also a striking cocktail dress in white satin with black piping and dramatic ruffles down the front and the back. Another look that went in the chic-direction (as opposed to the crazy-direction) was a hot pink silk dress with a draped top and red & white satin trim along the bottom and at the neck. However, on the crazy side, there was a red & white striped satin dress…with a blue floral silk top layered on top. Candy striper hitting a nightclub maybe?  And if you’re going for the I-shopped-in-my-grandmother’s-closet-even-though-she-is-5-sizes-bigger-than-I-am look, definitely check out the emerald green floral dress with the black & white gingham self-belt, which managed to drown even a 6-foot tall model. But hey, a 50-50 shot isn’t bad in the end…it must just mean there is something for everyone, right?
