Summary: Dennis Basso took inspiration from 70’s poolside soirées for his spring collection at the risk of appearing dated. The looks in warm rose-toned colors consisted of godet dresses and separates often accented by hand embellished vests and cropped jackets. Some look especially those featuring the batik print captured the "flirty young appeal" that Basso strived for, but as many pieces seemed out of place in 2009 spring attire.

Color Palette: white, beige, cream, camel, grey, platinum, pink, rose, bronze, lime, black

Fabrics & Textures: silk chiffon, silk shantung, jacquard, alligator, fur, organza, silk crepe pants; mousseline, floral print, batik print, lace, flash print, eyelash net, taffeta

Key Looks:
white silk chiffon gown; rose Russian broadtail and alligator jacket with hand sewn chiffon detail with a bronze silk shantung envelope skirt; platinum silk shantung envelope gown; black Russian broadtail hand embroidered organza jacket with a black silk mousseline blouse and black silk crepe pants.
