Summary: Included in the inspiration for the Spring/Summer ’09 Cynthia Steffe collection is "the urban girl indulges her country club fantasy…" Brought to life with athletically-inspired shapes, cool girl attitude and razor-sharp silhouettes in floaty fabrics, the show made us believe we were watching the tennis champion at the country club celebration…before she goes back to her edgy downtown loft. Super glamorous but also chicly nonchalant looks included structured jackets in lacquered raffia that looked like rough leather paired with flirty skirts that had scalloped edges on their petticoats. There was a perfect combination of whites and neutrals off-set by graphic, laser-cut prints and bold, saturated colors. Even the styling exuded the juxaposition of sporty and romantic, structured and soft, with sleek but swingy ponytails, metallic black visors, seamed stockings and oversized sunglasses. Dresses, skirts, jackets, tops, pants, swimsuits, and the ubitiquos jumpsuit were shown in an ideal order that left everyone ooh-ing and aah-ing over the final piece…a tiered white gown that was sweet and also sexy, and really tied the whole collection together.
