Summary: As "The Repetition Kills You" by the Black Ghosts blasted on the loud speakers of the Bryant Park Tent for Max Azria‘s Spring ’09 show, I couldn’t help but think that this was a very ironic music choice. "Repetition," to say it lightly, was rampant and frankly the beat of the song was the only thing keeping me going from look to look. While I will forever love Azria’s use of drapery and think that he is a smart designer with a real niche in the fashion industry, nothing about spring ’09 was innovative or particularly stimulating. I was interested, however, in the play with proportion, which has been a trend at runways across Manhattan. At least Azria’s "repetition" for Spring ’09 will repeat itself in stores nationwide coming soon…
