Summary: Naeem Khan‘s Spring collection definitely brought a bit of the Orient to New York’s Bryant Park. With kimono-styled gowns, Asian embroidery, and rich fabrics, the Spring line was a riot of bright, contrasting colors. Sheen, sparkle, and crystal embroidery added to the impact. The show was eye-catching and fun to watch, but with heavy fabrics, jewel tones, and sequins, I almost felt like I was watching a winter collection. The red sequin crossover drape gown would be perfect for the holidays… I’d absolutely wear it to a New Year’s Eve party! Even if Khan sometimes missed the mark, he nailed other trends. The grey and orange ombre silk strapless gown with silver sequin bodice nests nicely with other Spring pieces and will add a pop to the season’s usual pastel color palette.
