I used to not be a big fan of jewelry – not that I didn’t like it – I just chose to spend my fashion expenditure on main apparel items. But lately I can’t get enough of it – everything catches my eye: oversized pearls, multi-strand gold necklaces, delicate feather earrings and chunky, bejewelled cuffs. As layering becomes even more important this fall season, jewelry will definitely play a big role in that. Here’s some of the best I’ve seen lately, in a range of prices.
Have you seen the Dean Harris collection for Target? Constructed of natural, luxurious materials, the collection features twisted vine rings, double leaf necklaces and silver wire flower earrings. The cut-out leaf earrings are especially lovely in their organic inspiration and wood and gold material ($39.99 at target.com).
It’s feather frenzy this fall and as usual, I can’t get enough. Choose a flirty bohemian pair of earrings like the Marciano Alex ($88 at Marciano.com) or go more refined with the Elsa Peretti version in 18K gold for Tiffany & Co. ($795 at tiffany.com). Why stop with earrings? I also love this peacock feather bangle from Urban ($20 at urbanoutfitters.com).
I’m always hunting for an interesting take on the classic pearl necklace, and Wendy Nichol’s pearl and mixed chain version is the perfect twist. The necklace is a delicate mix of hand dyed freshwater pearls, sterling silver chains and light silk grosgrain ribbon ($385 at ravinstyle.com).
Statement-making jewelry is always in, so Catherine Malandrino’s leaf necklace definitely fits the bill. Your neckline will never be the same in this handmade torque in silver-plated brass style ($1,875 at vire.com). Hey, a girl can always dream.
I fell in love with St. Kilda jewelry some time ago and I love the art nouveau-inspired ring, which spells out LOVE in whimsical script. 10K yellow gold. $375 at stkildajewelry.com Lovely.
Does rose gold make everyone feel happy inside like it does for me? I just love the blushing golden color and find it best applied in delicate, stacked rings like Melissa Joy Manning‘s silver, rose gold and yellow gold set of eight for $313 at shopbop.com. Or why not go for the rose-gold with a fabulous 18K silicio briolette ring from Barneys ($1,725).
