Elizabeth Hurley and Jay Strongwater At Saks in Chicago For Breast Cancer Campaign. Wear A Pink Ribbon!

October 7, 2008 • Events

Elizabeth Hurley, Spokesmodel for Estée Lauder and Home Décor Designer Jay Strongwater were in town for the The Estée Lauder Companies’ 2008 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign: “World Pink. World Without Breast Cancer. Wear a Pink Ribbon. Make a Difference.” It was Evelyn Lauder and Alexandra Penny, then editor of Self magazine who originally developed the pink ribbon back in 1992, which has now become the symbol of breast health worldwide.

Elizabeth Hurley warmly greeted the crowd and pointed out the importance of annual breast cancer screenings after the age of 40. (Can you believe that she is over 40? She looked stunning!)

The event celebrated the launch of the Estée Lauder Pink Reflections Duet by Jay Strongwaterand Estée Lauder, which will be sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue.
The Pink Reflections Duet includes a Pink Ribbon Pink hand enameled dual–sided mirror compact with picture frame cover featuring a photograph chosen and taken by Mrs. Evelyn Lauder (which can be interchanged) and a full-size Pure Color Longlasting Lipstick in Bois de Rose. The compact retails for $150.00 and Estée Lauder will donate $500,000 in connection with the sales of its Pink Ribbon Collection to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Elizabeth Hurley and Jay Strongwater signed compacts in addition to the other Pink Ribbon Collection Products at Saks.

Women lined up around the corner to get autographs. What’s in the bags? Besides the compact, they may have purchased something from a large menu of products.

There are products from 15 of The Estée Lauder Companies’ brands that you will see for sale this month to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation such as Aveda Hand Relief $21, Bobbie Brown Pink Ribbon Collection Gloss and Lipstick $40, Bumble and Bumble Hairspray $11. You see, every little bit will help, and you may able to help by purchasing a product that you already use.
