Located just north of West London on Regents Canal, the Camden Market is an eclectic circus of shops, cinemas, pubs and a must see the next time you are in London. Comparable to the Marché aux Puces in Paris, this alternative market consists of the Camden Lock, Stables Market, and Canal Market.
You can literally find any genre of goods here—from vintage hippie broom skirts, neo-Goth pleather, and retro rockabilly tartan to antique European furniture, resale Bakelite jewelry, and funky abstract paintings—in other words, it is London’s alternative heaven.
Originally only open on weekends, Camden Market is now open seven days a week. Although you will miss the colossal crowds during the week, not all of the stalls will be open. (When I went on a Saturday afternoon, the market was busy but bearable!)
