Celebrity Style. New Year’s Style Resolution

January 8, 2009 • Celebrity Style

My New Year’s resolution for 2009: Be fashionable at any moment! In other words, dress more like the celebs!

But only the ones worth imitating of course! That means Ashley Tisdale, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera…sorry but you girls are out of the running!

The rest of the women below are worth mentioning…in the style department, that is.  Fresh faced, put together, simple but unique, these women know how to flaunt what they got and make their own individual style work for them.

There’s no Rihanna mention here because frankly, she doesn’t need to be here (she’s already been seen on every fashion Best Dressed list to date.) Never fear, these girls have got what she’s got and deserve a place in the top spot, too.

Nicole Richie

Nicole is always put together. Funny thing is, she always looks so hippie chic, it’s like she threw something on and walked out the door. How I’d love to do that…

Kelly Osbourne

One time punk kid Kelly Osbourne has gone through a major transformation and her style has done the same. Lucky for her, she can pull anything off! We love it!

Selma Blair
We like that this devilishly daring diva can experiment ruffles and geometric shapes without looking too poofy. Toning down the color is key and Selma flaunts it to a T!

Eva Mendes

When Eva wore a Dior haute couture ensemble of pink and orange with elegant white T-straps to the Dior show in Paris, we knew she was up there with the best of them.  But she can do Michael Kors red and Calvin Klein yellow and multiprint too.

Kate Bosworth

Kate was so fashionable this year, I devoted an entire post to her style. It consisted of her wearing every 2008 trend you could think of and look quite stylish doing it.

Leighton Meester
This Gossip Girl can wear any style. Menswear, yellow, a bright red peacoat, even a floral, asymmetrical Marc Jacobs dress. The difference for her is–she almost always looks good doing it!

And the reigning queen of the celeb fashion scene is…Anne Hathaway!!

Truly versatile, Anne can make a bland black pantsuit and 80s updo look presentable.  She can also sashay in navy blue Marc Jacobs or a Jasmine DiMilo dress with puff sleeves.

And unlike some people (ahem, Ashley Tisdale) she never looked like she was trying too hard.  In 2008, she was definitely the one to beat.  Let’s hope she can continue this upward trend in 2009.
