Beauty Fix. Covered and Concealed… Easy Steps to Cover a Blemish.

January 14, 2009 • Beauty

Developed an unsightly pimple overnight, and need a quick remedy? Here are a few steps to keep it from being the center of attention…

First wash your face with your normal face cleansing product and pat dry. Try not to use any topical solutions over the blemish at this time, because it will make it shiny and harder to cover. However, you may apply ice for 30 to 60 seconds to calm the redness and reduce inflammation. Do this a few times and you should see the redness diminish. Last, you can apply alcohol in the area to dry it out.

*For more redness relief try hydrocortisone on the area.

Next, apply dab concealer, like Laura Mercier's Secret Camoflauge, on blemish, and use a light dabbing motion. Use a concealer brush or a disposable facial sponge to blend the concealer in. Use small amounts of concealer, and remember you can apply more if needed, but too much layering will make it look worse.

Then apply your regular foundation, using sparingly in the affected area, but blending until it becomes less noticeable.

Last, use a very light layer of oil-free powder, on the blemish to reduce shine left by the concealer or foundation.

This quick treatment, should leave you covered and concealed!
