WTF Was She Thinking? The Week That Was in Bad Celebrity Fashion

January 16, 2009 • Celebrity Style

The year has just begun, but these celebs are already off to a bad start in the wardrobe department. Cue the bad outfits!

Jael Stauss at Oxygen's Launch Party For “America’s Next Top Model: OBSESSED”

Comment:Let's see…leopard print, fishnets, garter belt, exposed bra, and combat boots? Dominatrix much? We know Jael wasn't exactly the classiest broad on Top Model, but this is just embarrassing. The fact that the bra and garter belt seem to have come in a matching set is just the icing on a poorly dressed cake.

She's Thinking: Welcome to the jungle…

Patricia Field at the" Louis Vuitton Tribute To Stephen Sprouse" Cocktail Party

Comment:I think she may have taken the invite a little too seriously. Just because its a party celebrating Steven Sprouse's graffiti style artwork (which is fabulous on a LV Speedy bag) doesn't mean it's appropriate to dress yourself in a Steven Sprouse graffiti print outfit (the print is less than fabulous on a coat.) Patricia's notorious for her unconventionality, but matching her outfit to the carpet might be taking it a bit too far.

She's Thinking: I dress people for a living. Nobody can tell me what to wear.

Princess Letizia of Spain at Spanish Royals Foreign Ambassadors Annual Reception

Comment: Now I've always wanted to be a princess, but not the kind that wears a floor length red velvet skirt-suit with shoes dyed to match. For a woman with a lovely figure, this stiff ensemble does nothing for her. She looks uncomfortable, royally pained even.

She's thinking: How come Princess Di got to wear all the good outfits?

Savannah Van and Keana Texeira of the G-Girlz at the 1st Celebrity Basketball Game

Comment: These girls are helping to promote a good cause, so I don't want to make fun of them…but look at what they are wearing! I didn't even know they made high tops that went up that high. What do you even call shoes like that? Extra-high tops? Knee-high tops? Or maybe we should just call them ugly and leave it at that.

They're thinking: We're hip. And we match. It's like double the hipness and its awesome.

Amrapali Ambegaokar at "The Lodger" premiere in L.A.

Comment: I'll give her one thing: the color is great on her. It makes her skin tone just glow and yellow is right on trend for this upcoming Spring/Summer season. I'm not sure what look she was going for, but if her intention was too look easy and sleazy, then she nailed it. It's too short, too tight, and too low cut.

She's thinking: It's L.A. All the girls dress like this. Besides, I'm not going to have this body forever, you know?

Annie Schilhof at the 2008 National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards Gala in NYC

Comment: I love a woman in a suit. When done right, the result is fabulous. However, when the suit is made entirely out of satin and includes a matching bow tie, it just comes off as looking ridiculous. This outfit is really not flattering on her. The fit just isn't right, and the fact that its all the same boring color really doesn't help.

She's thinking: I really don't want to be here. Maybe if I don't smile, no one will notice me.

Oh my. Possibly Jael thought: “I’ve worn all the good stuff. What the hell, I’m a model! No one will really know the difference if I go out in my jammies so long as I add some really killer boots!” Too bad she was wrong on both counts…

  2. Jessorz says:

That last lady should have just skipped the red carpet…
