I look forward to the next Target Go International Collections the way that I used to look forward to the new Harry Potter novels when I was younger. From Luella to Alice Temperly, Rogan, and Jonathan Saunders, Target's given us some really nice clothes, and introduced up and coming designers into the mainstream market–who probably wouldn't have heard of them otherwise. However, this March,Target is introducing a new concept called "Designer Collaborations," which is essentially similar to the Go International collections, but with big name designers. More explanation follows, according to WWD:
"The program will bring the styles of well-established designers to the mass merchant at typical Target prices. Alexander McQueen is the first on deck and will design a version of his McQ collection called McQ Alexander McQueen for Target. Designer Collaborations is a separate program from Target’s Go International, which focuses on young or emerging designers. Target said additional Designer Collaborations will be announced in the future."
The McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection debuts in most Target stores March 1st, but luckily for us, photos have already leaked to the Internet. The clothes look awesome, and totally wearable too. There's 3 or 4 super cute dresses, some amazing jackets, and he even did a bikini! Not to mention I've been searching for the perfect pair of gray skinny jeans and the McQ for Target ones might just be the answer to my prayers. More photos of the collection at Racked.com.
