Finally some good news for Jason Wu. No make that great news.
After much secrecy and waiting for the first black tie photo-op,
Michelle and Barack Obama dressed did not disappoint for last night's slew of inaugural balls. The first lady chose a one-shoulder, ethereal ivory Jason Wu gown. The President wore a custom Hart Schaffner Marx tuxedo and white tie.
Like most of the other designer styles worn by the First Lady in recent
days, Jason Wu routed the gown through Chicago boutique Ikram. The one-of-a-kind ivory silk chiffon dress with silk organza
flowers, Swarovski crystal rhinestones and silver thread embroidery looked almost bridal.
Apparently, Wu found out Michelle Obama chose his dress like everyone else, at home with friends on TV, claiming he was "amazed and awestruck."
"I had no idea," he said. "I found out with everyone else which was pretty fabulous when you think about it."
The first lady gave an inauguration day nod to two New York designers. Jason Wu and Isabel Toledo. And you thought she would only wear Chicago designers and Ann Taylor right? Keep us guessing. Keep us guessing.
