The rumor mill has been buzzing for weeks, but Grazia is now reporting Olivier Theyskens has officially left Nina Ricci. Both the designer and Puig president Mario
Grauso tired to play down the design differences between Puig and Theyskens less than two weeks
ago. But now the the word on the front row of the current Paris couture shows,
which are going on in Paris right now is that Theyskens's latest collection for the house wasn't
selling. Mind you, Theyskens announced only a week ago he was adding a new accessories line to Nina Ricci, saying ‘When the economy changes, it's not like you want to start eating bad-tasting chocolate. It's important to study the market and to feel you are right with it. But if I felt we had to start doing simple clothes, I'd be doing them.'
Nina Ricci is yet to confirm that Theyskens is really out. Question is, what will Nina Ricci show during Paris Fashion week which is mere weeks away? There is no official response to the news as yet.
