Celebrity Low Blow. The Post’s Jessica Simpson Cartoon

January 28, 2009 • Celebrity Style

Now this is just mean. Yesterday, The NY Post published the above picture of Jessica Simpson singing at a Chili Cook-Off (yes, you read that correctly…she's a country singer now ya'll) and made fun of her zoftig figure which was a low-blow. Now, I would have made fun of her bad outfit, frankly. The belt is tacky and those jeans are just awful. OK, the outfit was just bad and made her appear heavier than she probably is. But she's in lurve and we all know that can be a killer on the diet.

Then today the Post took it one step further. The cartoon below by Sean Delonas was on Page Six and while I found myself laughing, it's pretty bad. OK, but kinda funny. I can totally relate.

Ugh, I’m so tired of people making fun of an average-for-America-sized woman. I think that she’s cute when she’s “doughy”, and she’s a little creepy when she’s skeletal, so I’m welcoming the change!

omg, she is so huge!!!! NOT! she is still beautiful! if only the rest of us could carry a few extra pounds as beautifully as she does.
