“The woman carries the clothes, but it is the shoe that carries the woman.”
– Christian Louboutin

How true, how true. I would just like to take this moment to thank my shoes. Those that I’ve repaired too many times to count, those that I’ve worn in the snow even though I know I shouldn’t have, those that instantly make me look 3 inches taller and five pounds lighter, and those that are truly comfortable and I could walk miles in … thank you, shoes.

Now how about a pair of stunners from the genius himself? Christian Louboutin Peplum T-Bar Winged Sandals, $895 at

“When a woman becomes her own best friend, life is easier.”
– Diane von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg is by far one of the most inspiring female fashion designers. Not only does she truly understand how to dress a woman, but is full of advice on how to live a happy and fulfilling life. Life is also easier with a gorgeous versatile sleeveless wrap dress with ruffle detail. DVF “Andra” Dress (seriously!) at, $365.

“If you manage to pack lightly, you manage to live lightly.”
– Also DVF

I believe whole-heartedly in packing lightly and consider myself a bit of an expert in this department. I can easily pack for 7 nights in only a carry-on and can’t think of a classier way to do so than in a Diane von Furstenberg 21” Upright Trolley in black leather ($1,500 at Don’t forget to pack your bathing suit and cover-up!
“Liz” Cover-Up in Warhol Flower Green, $295 at

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
– Coco Chanel

I think women should live by this. Start with a classy outfit and add just a little something edgy to bring the fab to the ensemble. It’s the way to set yourself apart.

“Jeans represent democracy in fashion.”
– Giorgio Armani

Denim should be praised not just for their versatility, but also as the foundation for any effortlessly hip look. I love that jeans can serve as a truly casual look – think flip flops and a tank top – but also can be dressed up for that perfect evening out. One of my favorite ensembles is jeans with a fun top and black blazer, as styled by with the 7 for All Mankind “Roxanne” Skinny Jeans ($155).
