One of my favorite Los Angeles-based designers, Pegah Anvarian has been named
Three Dots' new
creative director. Anvarian fills the position vacated by Yuchin Mao,
the former Helmut Lang designer who oversaw Three Dots’ creative
direction from 2005 to 2008. According to WWD, after shuttering her namesake
label last spring, Anvarian designed high-waisted
skirts, capes and jackets to lure contemporary and young designer
shoppers to Three Dots. A specialist in draping, she also plans to
incorporate novel fabrics including double-knit jersey and stretchy
tweed. Anvarian’s designs will retail for under $225.
“I just see the potential of it being bigger than it is now,” Anvarian
I'm just happy to see her back.
