Summary: The BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2009 Collection focused on the future with an emphasis on Constructivism. Some of the shapes were reminiscent of past eras, such as the 20's dropped waist silhouettes, the 60's cocoon, and 80's quilted textures and broad shoulders. But the overall feel was innovative using tone on tone satins, draping, asymmetry, dolman sleeves, deep V open backs, envelope-wrapped layers and accentuated shoulders. Never mind the gleaming gold and gunmetal metallic hose and lucite clutch handbags, because I didn't. Instead my eye was drawn to the different shapes and textures of the fabrics which is what really made it futuristic. The velvet dresses won me over with their rich hues and depth of color. With such a wide variety in this collection there is a shape and cut for every woman.
