With the change of seasons comes a change of wardrobe, as well as new trends and “it” items that fashion editors swoon over. Here are the six hottest styles of spring 2009.

Sheer Excitement – Sheer fabrics make for the perfect spring layering pieces, and this season you will have more options than ever, with feminine dresses, blouses, and skirts taking center stage. This cobalt print Temperley London tunic would be amazing topped with a cardigan or leather motorcycle jacket and paired with another trend – strappy studded shoes.

Statement Necklaces – Set the delicate chains aside for a while and rock a necklace that makes an impact. Try something sculptural for an avant garde look, or go bohemian chic with some ethnic beads. This silver bead necklace by Nicole Romano is the best of both worlds, and it would look equally chic over a sleek cocktail dress or a basic tee.

Aggressive Footwear – Think platforms, think serious straps, think studs and other outstanding embellishments. Add a few inches of height and more than a punch to your spring ensembles with some sandals that kick serious ass. These Vince Camuto platforms are just the right mix of elegant and edgy.

Camelot Redux – Thanks to Michelle Obama‘s amazing sense of style, the classic Jackie O. look is experiencing a Renaissance. Look for tailored coats with bracelet length sleeves (like this ice blue J. Crew jacket), simple sheaths in flattering pastels, and don’t forget the pearls!

Bandage Frocks – While this Herve Leger look might be difficult to wear, when bandage dresses are done right, they have sex appeal to spare. Invest in a well-made number and you’ll make a serious entrance at every party in 2009, and then some. This midnight blue Rag & Bone halter is right on the mark for this trend while still being classic enough to wear once the season is over.

All In One – Call it a romper, a playsuit, or a jumpsuit – the all-in-one outfit is becoming as popular as it is easy to wear. Although a poorly chosen romper can make the wearer resemble a mechanic or a sad 80s throwback, the right one can be flattering, chic, and incredibly easy to wear, like this black Theory jumpsuit.

2. Silver Bead Necklace by Nicole Romano $365
3. Vince Camuto Kimball Shoes $125

5. Rag & Bone Bandage Dress $385
