Designer, Stacey Bendet
Summary: It was yet another charming collection for designer Stacey Bendet at her Alice + Olivia Fall '09 presentation in her Midtown store. Life-size photographs of models wearing the funky line were plastered on the walls as a spectacle of Bendet's latest work. In addition to the images, marionettes, framed t-shirts and a flock of models were in plain site for all to see. This brought a three-dimensional life to the Alice + Olivia collection, where bystanders were able to touch and view the textures and details up close and personal. Bendet declared the inspriation behind the zany get-up was the life of three stylish girls living in some of the world's most fashionable cities: New York, Los Angeles and Paris. The New Yorker's style is portrayed through the Upper East Side prep school girl high-waist skirts with lace overlay and argyle sweaters. Bohem cool girl who resides in L.A. is featured in rocker-edge motorcycle jackets with dramatic funnel neck collars. And lastly, the uber glam Chanel-inspired dresses and jackets are a reflection of the Parisian coquette.
In addition to her fall contemporary line, Bendet has also created her 6th footwear collection for Payless that was seen throughout the presentation. The styles shown were created with the new collection in mind. Thus, both the shoes and clothing complemented each other well. Beginning in September, girls everywhere can choose between eight flirty and edgy styles of footwear online and at any Payless store.
