Summary: The Carolina Herrera Fall 2009 Collection was a mixture of rich jewel tones, like emerald green, teal and fuchsia. The silhouette focused on defining a woman's shape. Thus, concentration on the waist and elongating forms graced the runway. Layering of various fabrics and textures was also seen. The textured silk corsets and reflective jacquard gowns were just a taste. Gorgeous copper hardware was used in nearly ever look: from belts to shoes to decorative hair ornaments. The inspiration for this derived from 18th century architectural details. While Herrera's sportswear was probably a little too dressy for daytime, her eveningwear made for the perfect nighttime gala ensemble. Some of my personal favorites were the two-tone jacquard pieces. Take look #25 for example: The extravagance of the asymmetry, textures and fit are immaculate. All in all, Carolina has created yet another stunning collection for fall that is sure to be seen on the red carpet. Renee Zellweger, anyone?
