John Galliano dug deep into the vaults of Christian Dior's vast design history to come up with this stellar fall collection. Galliano's take on on Oriental motifs mixed with rich fabrics and architectural exaggerated lines such as shoulders and peplums were somehow modern and wearable. The bubble skirts with banded hems are sure to be a signature hit come fall '09. Of course there was the ubiquitous harem pant, but there were also stunning paisley dresses and beautiful brocades, not to mention fox trim. There was something for everyone who isn't a wallflower and thankfully, none of it was boring, to say the least.
