One terrible celebrity line down, about 100 left to go! According to today's New York Post, Lauren Conrad's clothing line is heading for the hills until further notice. Los Angeles sources say the MTV reality starlet turned fashion designer, who's wrapping up her last season on "The Hills," won't be producing any more seasons of her Lauren Conrad Collection, which launched in fall 2007 and has been panned and dropped by many retailers. What is she going to do now? Fade into oblivion?
"In light of the economic climate, Lauren has decided to completely rethink her line," showrooms were told. As a result, shipment of the last spring and summer delivery has been canceled. The line wasn't moving in stores like Kitson and Bloomingdale's. "Lauren is going to revamp her line and design with more high-end fabrics . . . things she couldn't do the first time around," a source close to Conrad said. Her rep continued, "With everything going on in the economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings. She will make announcements soon." Um, yeah. Good luck with that. Are you willing to pay more for Lauren Conrad?
Sorry. If you were dying to overpay for cheaply made and unoriginal designs by the celebrity designer this season, you are out of luck. However, there are plenty other celebrity lines still left to chose from. Check out Heidi Montag's horrid line.
