Could this be true? Hint is reporting that recently ousted Nina Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens is heading stateside to run Halston.
Pretty much the entire fashion community thought Ricci was nuts to force Theyskens out
of his contract seven months early. Especially after his critically acclaimed fall 2009
collection debuted last month.
Halston which was bought and revived by Harvey Weinstein in 2007 has not done as well as expected. The line re-debuted to mixed reviews with Marco Zanini as head designer. He lasted less than two seasons. Hiring one of the hottest designers of the moment would generate
incredible buzz for Halston.
We will keep you posted!
