Celebrity Trends. Conservative is Cool.

Kudos to these A-listers for proving you don't have to wear bright prints in order to make a statement! Demure In pullovers, pencil skirts, and prim n' proper attire, these stars look the style mavens they always were…even in conservative cool looks.

Natalie Portman

The cardigan covers, yet broad blue stripes and purple pants steal the show.  Prepster Natalie Portman proves you can be loud without going overboard–and steals our fashion hearts once again.

Miley Cyrus

In loud colors one day and a puff sleeve BCBG Max Azria pencil dress, the next Miley Cyrus can easily transform from girl-next-door to wannabe grown up.

In West London, Madonna tries to pull off the conservative look, but shows she is anything but–check out the wispy tie-neck blouse and satin skirt.

Marion Cotillard

A debonair Marion Cotillard (the face of Dior) in quite the demure ensemble, with just a bit of skin showing at the sleeves (and fortunately not in the cleavage!) I like it!

Lindsay Lohan

I like Lindsay when she looks a bit more conservative, yet still with an edge–ankle boots, leggings, and an uber-chic galactic 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket will do it!

Kim Kardashian

Not sure if you could call this conservative, but it certainly is bare-down-to-there for Kim Kardashian, who's usually seen in bright, low-cut necklines, and architectural blazers. The two-tone dress is pretty, but not flashy and the opaque tights sharpen the look in a sophisticated, but elegant way.

Jennifer Lopez

What exactly was J.Lo going for here? The blouse and sweater set is very prepster chic, but the shirt is actually a bit belly baring. Anyway, the look is something we're not used to from this movie star, but the mom of twins is no longer in her Grammy peacock dress wearing days. Maybe it's something husband Marc Anthony wants?

Milla Jovovich

When we first saw this set on Milla at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris, we fell in love. Conservative, elegant and utterly stylish, without a hint of breast or black.  The former fashion designer knows how to put an outfit together without looking over the top.

Katy Perry

From a peacock H&M for Matthew Williamson dress to this! Katy Perry is more fashion chameleon then we give her credit for! Somehow though, I love this outfit. The brown tweed coat, the updo, the sweet teddy bear purse–she really surprised us!

America Ferrera

To complete the conservative cool look, take a lesson from Ugly Betty's leading lady America Ferrera who has always looked especially grown up despite her youth.  This Catherine Malandrino frock is charming.

Marion Cotillard is the anti-Lohan. Always in style, though sometimes edgy, but tasteful. Head down, always working, a good friend, the complete professional at work, no stories about getting drunk in bars, fighting with lovers, going crazy or to rehab, getting out of limos the wrong way. A class act all ’round.

Well said! We couldn’t agree more! And she is an Oscar winner. Something we doubt Lohan will ever be.
