Sorry, we were anxiously anticipating, yet totally spaced on this…Matthew Williamson for H&M launched select stores today! WWD is reporting the collection received mixed reviews from Parisian and Asian shoppers, while racked.com is reporting it is selling out really quickly in NYC…but not quite like Comme des Garçons a few months back.
Apparently all the advertised pieces—the long ruffled dress, the leather jacket, the sequined dress, the blue blazer and the big studded belt—sold within an hour, leaving only a few sad racks full of tanks, tees and cardigans. Some women were hoarding leaving with 8-10 bags each, so look for Matthew Williamson for H&M to pop up on eBay by this evening if you fell asleep behind the wheel too!
In case there might be any left, the collection is was available at these stores:
640 Fifth Avenue
731 Lexington Avenue
San Francisco: 150 Powell Street
Los Angeles: 8500 Beverly Blvd.
Chicago: 840 North Michigan Ave.
Boston: 100 Newbury Street
Atlanta: 231 18th Street NW
Wait! There's still some good news! Many of the pieces from the line will be available on May 14th in H&Ms worldwide. So all hope is not lost. Don't pay triple on eBay!
Did you go? Did you buy anything? How was it? Leave your comments.
