Whether we like it or not, most of us have a signature style. When we like a certain look we tend to stick with it — even if that look means non-conformity or changing it up or going from one style to another. It says something about our personalities, what we like, how we perceive ourselves, and how we want people to perceive us. Believe it or not, most celebs have a certain look, too, and even when they change it, a new look unfolds telling the world that this is the way we are or this is the way we want to be. Everyone likes to be a chic stylista or a casual trendy chick or a punky princess or a powerhouse. Celebs, too! Let’s check out some of my favorite signature styles of late. You can definitely take something from each look — or keep going with your own!

Rihanna’s Over-The-Top 80s Menswear

Is it just me or is Rihanna living in the wrong era? I mean, 80s powersuits are coming back in style but she is going at it full force down to the gelled side part and skunk hair look. She showed up to three different events looking very 80’s. Of course, we all let out a collective gasp when she wore the puff-sleeve Dolce & Gabbana suit set to the Met’s Costume Institute Gala! Then it was the bright yellow jacket with the silver sequined lining, chunky shades, and ripped jeans while out on the town. And of course, the edgy white suit with the rolled up sleeves of her leopard-print top, bold red lips and bronze platforms at the opening of Derek Lam’s boutique in NYC. A bit much, but Rihanna can pull it off and make it her signature…and she has!

Nicole Richie’s Flouncy Print Maxidresses and Kimonos

Even before she revealed her second pregnancy, Nicole Richie was all about flowy dresses and massive prints. Totally bohemian — and it worked! A pink and blue paisley print dress with the denim jacket said it all, as did the red and white Issa dress in the style she’s known for. And the long and flowy Dsquared dress with the cropped leather jacket was definitely tough meets sweet. The quintessential Nicole Richie look.

Demi Lovato’s Patterned Prints

Demi Lovato definitely dresses her age…but I like that. She keeps up with the trends, but in a classic and stylish way. Check out the blue floral print dress under the cropped leather jacket—definitely a major look right now. Then there’s the white dip dyed tee and the tan and print empire waist dress under the white leather jacket. A youthful look and very of-the-moment. If you like the trends, then why not wear them?

Drew Barrymore’s Grown-Up Glam

When did Drew Barrymore ditch the rocker tees, faded jeans and sneakers for finery and finesse? I love her new looks — they are glamorous, elegant and high-end, all things that Drew’s personality tells us she is, but it’s about time her clothes start showing them! At an event for her HBO film ‘Grey Gardens’, she wore an amazing sea green Elie Saab number paired with Guiseppe Zanotti tuxedo shoes. A form fitting Giambattista off-the-shoulder black dress with voluminous puff sleeves, slicked back hair, and two-tones shoes kept it going. She was still glam when she changed it up, pulling together a 60s look with an Andrew Gn jeweled halter gown and hair flowing. I’m definitely a fan of her versatility and a great makeover! Drew’s a glamazon now! Looks like becoming the face of Gucci has paid off well!
