Last Thursday night was all about sizzling, spicy spring fashion at the Spanish-themed 'Rejuvenate' fete hosted by Custo Barcelona. Held at trendy West Loop club Lumen, the European label showcased its spring and summer 09 collection amidst a motif of red-hot lights, tapas and sangria. Drinks and appetizers were supplied by Mercat a la Planxa while DJ Mwelwa spun salsa-infused beats.
Once the show got underway, a runway snaked through the banquettes crowded with guests eager to get a peek at the splashy colors and intricate patterns that the designs are known for. In addition to the label's signature use of color throughout the collection, specific standout pieces included a flirty minidress trimmed in electric blue lace, satin pajama-like coverups in the deepest shade of purple, and a metallic colorblock bikini. The show's overall dynamic illustrated the quirky, fun side of summer with a ton of statement making pieces that could easily be thrown on for a look that's effortlessly chic. Viva la Custo!
