Barcelona-based retailer Mango has just announced that it has chosen Scarlett Johansson to be the new face of it's Fall/Winter 09/10 collection. ScarJo has replaced Spanish native Penelope Cruz as the label's main spokesmodel, after Cruz's four-season stint with the apparel company.
Reps of the cheaply chic retailer say Johansson was handpicked for her fresh, natural beauty that the company says embodies the Mango "ideal urban woman, independent and cosmopolitan". They applauded the young actress' image as full of, "extraordinary personality, young and fun". And as a tip of the hat to their former muse, Mango loved the fact that Johansson and Cruz were castmates in last year's indie hit ' Vicki Cristina Barcelona'.
Mango has already begun shooting ad campaigns for the upcoming collection around L.A., though the launch date still has yet to be confirmed. We hope the new line is full of sassy, fierce pieces that will run the
gamut from sexy to sophisticated — just like Ms. Scarlett herself.
