It seems good old Lindsey Lohan has recently taken a cue from her character in "Just My Luck", when dealing with her current affairs; except where Lohan's character in the movie is cursed with a bad luck streak the real starlet is just adept at creating her own disasters. From her tumultuous and very public relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson to her house being busted for an alleged robbery (which turned out that it was just a mess), Lohan has definitely not been visited by lady luck lately.
Perhaps she felt a change in the winds this past week because Page Six has reported that LiLo is currently in Paris discussing potential employment with fashion house Emanuel Ungaro. Apparently Lohan believes she is a perfect candidate to sign on as a "creative consultant" for the line, and has been enthusiastic at the prospect of getting back into fashion after her previous (and virtually unknown) endeavors involving designing a collection of leggings and a her own spray tan.
Unfortunately for her, Ungaro's head designer Esteban Cortazar is not convinced that Lohan has the Midas touch. In fact he has reportedly threatened to leave the label if Lohan is given the green light. A fashion insider who spoke to Page Six said, "Esteban is threatening to leave the company if they bring Lindsay on
as a consultant. It has been a revolving door
of designers there and if he leaves, his team will go with him."
Losing the designer would be a very hard hit for the label, who has been building its reputation back as a couture house since Cortazar was hired in 2007. His debut collection launched last year to warm reviews and he has been gaining more approval ever since. If Lohan were to sign on, Cortazar's apparent fears would be realized—sure Lindsey would seemingly bring a new angle of publicity to the Emanuel Ungaro line, but the house would become a laughing stock in the couture fashion world and no one would be able to take the line seriously. With all that on the line, the designer's impulse seems right in showing Lohan the door.
