Russian designer Kira Plastinina is getting a second chance to boost her label stateside. Her self named, teenage fashion label was met with positive feedback when it launched in the U.S. last year. However, Plastinina was unable to keep the line afloat and filed for Chapter 7 liquidation a scant seven months later. Now, a deal between the designer and a new firm has been inked out that will involve Plastinina to reopen two of her Los Angeles stores undert the name K. Plastinina. Executives reported that one of the stores will be located at Beverly Center mall and
another on Robertson Boulevard. “Yes, they will reopen here,” said Jeff
Brown, general manager of the Taubman Co.-owned Beverly Center. Robertson Boulevard owner Bonnie Fuller eluded that the name of the new company heading up the project was called Pink Square, but was unable to tell when the openings where scheduled. Plastinina's collection continues to thrive overseas in her homeland of Russia, where she owns about 70 stores.
