London's romantically glam label Temperley London is officially joining the ranks of fashion houses broadening their brands through pop up shops and online ventures. The British based line is opening it's first stateside pop up shop tomorrow in the quietly chic town of East Hampton, New York. The 1,650-square-foot space, located at 53 The Circle, is a mini version
of Temperley’s stand-alone boutiques in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London and
Dubai, and it will remain open until December. The shop is set to carry the 2009 cruise and spring collections as well
as pre-fall and accessories. There will even be an in-store party with
Christy Turlington to mark the opening tomorrow night.
The luxe label already opened a UK pop up shop earlier this month, located next to the lobby of the Sanderson hotel in London. The temporary boutique will remain open until July 5th and was designed as a replica of the brand’s Notting Hill store. The mini shop
carries summer clothing, with some pieces discounted by 50 percent with the idea that hotel guests could swing by and grab something for an evening or weekend trip.
I addition to their pop up shop premieres, Temperley is also planning to host it's own e-commerce site, starting in July. Aimed at a more global audience beyond the British and American markets, the site will feature the pre-fall collection, as well as limited edition pieces and exclusive colorways. The option to purchase items in multiple currencies will be available, though the inventory is reported to remain in Britain and the U.S. The site will also include some extras like a behind-the-scenes video on how the clothes are made and a section called "We like……" which will feature owner and designer Alice Temperley and her staff providing feedback on their choices for upcoming trends.
