Reports are swirling about a potential sale by legendary French designer Pierre Cardin. According to WWD, the 86 year-old designer is currently looking to sell his apparel and accessories licenses in China. Cardin was one of the first French houses to begin operations in the Far East, after China opened up to Europe in 1978. The designer's camp is seemingly in talks with several potential buyers, though are unwilling to comment if the reports are actually true. Among the prospective candidates to purchase the licenses are Jengsheng Trading Company and Cardanro, with estimates of the sale reaching around $280 million.
