The Winner: Lauren Conrad. The reality star turned designer probably knows a thing or two now about the most flattering proportions of a dress. That seems to be what Conrad was weighing in choosing the strappy version of this tye-dyed dress, which drapes nicely on her petite shape. Granted, we realize this pic of Duff is not the best, but even so the frumpier, strapless version of the Gypsy 05 dress has the opposite effect on Duff. The elastic waistband and blousy top cut the actress's long frame in the middle and seem to drown her in fabric, instead of elongating and accentuating her assets underneath.
The Winner: Yes, it is tough for anyone who goes up against Megan Fox to prevail. And this case is no exception—we have to give Fox the crown, simply because she creates a cool and polished ensemble around the Stella McCartney tee. Her cropped leather jacket is the perfect length to showcase the top's design and her satiny pants and slick purple heels complete the rocker chic look seamlessly. Deschanel looks a little like she's trying to relive her youth at a White Snake concert by pairing the graphic tee with unflattering skin-tight pants.
Winner: It was a close call in the battle between these two comediennes, but in the end Kathy Griffin emerged victorious. Both of the funny women show off their elegant side in the Karen Millen frock, but Griffin's choice to add a belt and platform shoes freshens up the dress and makes it more versatile. Plus the sapphire hue of her dress works beautifully with her hair and skin color. Poehler's dress is lovely, but she too could have benefited from choosing a brighter color—the champagne tones of her dress make her look a little washed out.
The Winner: Kourtney Kardashian. There are some pieces that require an outfit built around them (see: Megan Fox's tee above) and then there are some pieces that should stand on their own. Estelle may need more help in distinguishing the difference but Kardashian seems to get it by pairing her printed Williamson for H&M dress with muted, minimal accessories. This allows the print of her dress to fully stand out without appearing too busy. Her loose waves also mimic the ruffles of the skirt, creating a summery and perfectly tousled look. Estelle's overload of multi-colored bag, necklace, and bracelets make her look messy, and the dress's vibrant colors and print are hidden under her denim jacket instead of taking center stage.
Zoe Saldana vs. Fergie in Emilio Pucci
The Winner: Its a tie. After searching meticulously for some erroneous movement that one or the other of these women had made, I came up short handed. They both look phenomenal in the Pucci dress and each have used it to their utmost advantage. Fergie rocks her curves with the saucy, cut-out version and picks the most complementary loose hair and metallic shoes to go with it. Saldana chooses a more toned down version, but not any less flattering or beautiful on her slim frame. Her sleek hair and funky black shoes also provide an immaculate finishing touch to her sweet but sexy look.
