Get it Now. Luxury in the Recession: Your Style Shouldn’t Have To Suffer

Your stylish side shouldn't have to be put on hold just because the economic forecast isn't so bright.
In fact, many luxury brands are suffering right along with us and are
now offering lower-priced merchandise and marking things down to a more
realistic price. Here are a few of our favorite (relative) steals:

It is normally impossible to get a leather Prada bag for under a grand. However, Miuccia recently introduced this luscious plum leather hobo with gold accents that looks ultra-luxe for an initial price of $995
– this one might not actually make it to markdowns, since the deep
purple will be perfect for the late summer transition till next spring.

Of course, there is always the option of going for a diffusion line instead of the regular label. Some of these are clearly the bottom of the barrel, but some, like T by Alexander Wang, are nearly impossible to tell apart from the high end option. This jersey mini-dress is a steal at only $85 and would be a perfect layering piece going into fall (curvy girls can belt it from some waist definition). Another Alexander Wang option that offers high style for a low price is this elegantly draped tank dress that has the subtlety of a piece five times the price. Just
add a pair of strappy sandals and you're set for summer heat, and in
the fall you can layer with tights and sweaters for a cozy look.
