After months of reported turmoil between Emanuel Ungaro's head designer Esteban Cortazar and the fashion house's CEO Mounir Moufarriage, it was announced earlier this week that Coratzar was officially out. The designer was apparently parting ways with the house yesterday, after much speculation on what the reasons were for his departure. Back in the spring, Cortazar had threatened to leave the label after Moufarriage had decided to look for a celebrity face to lend some creative insight and star in an upcoming ad campaign. When Lindsay Lohan's name came up, Cortazar believed hiring the scandal-happy starlet would compromise the integrity of his work and had told Moufarriage he would leave if the straight-to-t.v. actress signed on. What resulted was a bitter conflict where Cortazar, at one point, even sued the label. But recently it seemed things had calmed down and the two men had even seemed chummy wen hanging out in Paris for menswear fashion week last month. But alas, it seems it was all a farce since the label released a statement saying both parties has come to the "mutual agreement" that Cortazar would move on. It's up in the air so far as to where the young talent will flock to next. we're sure he's going to be fine but like most break ups, its somewhat sad to see Ungaro and Cortazar finally go their separate ways.
