For all of us fabulous ladies in the fashion biz who are looking for our Prince Charming (ahem, preferably in an Armani suit), Fashion Meets Finance, the matchmaking opportunity tailored to our um, values, is back after taking a brief hiatus due to the fledgling economy. The organization started as a means for New York single women in the fashion industry to meet New York single men in the finance industry, a common (if not, chauvinistic) pairing that goes as far back as the industries themselves. But as many of the major corporations involved have been experiencing recent cutbacks, the organization pulled back and thousands of young professionals had to take their bragging rights elsewhere. But now, as corporations like Goldman and JP Morgan are starting to reel their funds back in, "the balance is restoring itself to the ecosystem of the New York dating community," according to the event's invitation. Yes, it actually says that. The next mixer, sponsored by Pocket Change and Clientique Marketing Group, will take place on August 6th at Nikki Beach in Manhattan and subtlety is seemingly not required. If we want to nab that that Wall Street broker after all, than we're gonna have to pull out all the stops. Or at the very least, not even try to take ourselves seriously. Happy hunting!
