An average afternoon in New York city would not be complete without a swarm of stylists fashioning celebrities to film some type of thing or another. Well today is no exception as the intersection of 39th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in Manhattan will be the location for the final scenes of a public service announcement being filmed today for Fashion's Night Out, the citywide kickoff party to New York fashion week. The Council of Fashion Designer's of America is hoping to include as many industry people in the ad as possible to amp up the hype about the event, from designers and buyers to sample
room specialists, sourcing executives, merchandisers, public relations
assistants and fashion interns. If you fit the bill and are in the metro New York area then stop by the intersection at 5:30 p.m. today. To award punctual participants, the sponsors will be giving out free 'Fashion's night Out' t-shirts to the first 200 people on set.
The commercial has been filming already all day today highlighting designers, celebrities, and models who will help, as reported by WWD, "….illustrate the
importance of the industry to New York." When completed the public service announcement will run on
television, taxis and online in the countdown to the epic shopping
event which will take place on on Sept.10. 'Fashion's Night Out' has been organized by Vogue, NYC & Company, the
CFDA and the City of New York to get people excited about shopping again since coping with the recession.
